Information Disclosure
Information is a valuable and vital asset owned and used by the Children’s Information Service. The collection and use of reliable information on this website forms part of the delivery of effective SMBC services.
There are growing pressures to provide better information to all.
As a result, it is within CIS’s core objectives to;
- Provide a comprehensive integrated information and signposting service that will provide ‘the hub’ for children and young people, 0-19 yrs, and their representatives (essentially targeting 5-13 yr olds) requiring services and information.
Information relevant to 0-19 yr olds will cover a vast range of subjects. Whilst we acknowledge that some links on the ‘4u2do’ website are more appropriate to young people and not children, we expect any child of a given age to be supervised accordingly by a suitable adult in the home or elsewhere, while accessing the website.
Whilst delivering our ‘Info Shops’ in allocated schools throughout the Solihull borough, the CIS team strictly adheres to the SMBC Schools Internet Safety Policy and shall only enable information to be accessed off the website that is supervised by an adult and age appropriate.
Information must be accessible and available when required. Without readily available and up to date information, we may be unable to effectively deliver services to children, young people & families.
